Our Philosophy . . .

To successfully accomplish our mission, we must uphold our philosophy which is to uphold the educational rights of all students, with particular emphasis on minority students. We must facilitate systemic change in the current educational structure, thereby removing the recurrent practice of unequal access to quality education for minority students.

AAP/CCEE’s goals include training parents, educators, youth, and community members to recognize and insist that all students are entitled to attend schools that:

• Have high academic expectations and standards for all students
• Have access to AP classes, required for four year colleges and universities
• Have access to challenging and highly motivating classes and curriculum
• Have the best prepared and trained teachers who are credentialed in the subject matter that they are teaching
• Have access to the best resources in ALL subject matters including current edition text books, exposure to outside materials/activities as positive reinforcement supplements, and a no tolerance mandate on the “Dumbing Down” of curricula
